About Interspike

My name is Spike. I help people, businesses, and organizations create and maintain clear, understandable, and easy to use applications for the connected world.

For over a decade I’ve worked as a programmer in a web services development department at a large software company. I realized I needed to develop a more solid grounding in principles of user experience, information architecture, and interaction design so I went back to school.

I know first hand that designing and developing a truly effective, interesting, and usable website or mobile application takes research, exploration, intuition, and an understanding of information architecture.

In an effort to expand my understanding of what makes for a usable interface, I spent four years in graduate school at the University of Michigan School of Information studying principles of human-computer interaction. This program gave me a unique perspective on finding what works and what doesn’t in the interactive world.

If you’re interested in reading more about me, you can read my musings at a blog started when I went back to school and where I still write occasionally.
